Hey guys! It’s Serena, back with something a bit different!
Today, we’re going to dive into the concept of Jumpstart. But more specifically, a Jumpstart Cube! I created a total of 20 different 20-card decks with the intent that, just like regular Jumpstart, each player will shuffle two of these decks together. My current Jumpstart cube is made with four decks of each color, each with a different theme. Some of the themes are based on creature type, some on a given keyword, and some on other factors. Now, on to the general construction of my cube.
If you’re a trading card gamer like me, you know the struggle of keeping all your gear organized and ready to go. Whether it’s a casual game night at a friend’s house, a trip to your local game store, or an intense weekend tournament, the Spectrum TCG Backpack from BCW Supplies is designed with gamers in mind. This backpack isn’t just for carrying your cards; it’s a complete storage solution tailored to meet the needs of card gamers on the go.
Hey guys! Serena, back at it again with another commander deck tech! This time we’re talking about Trazyn the Infinite from the Warhammer 40k Necron precon. While I fully admit I know little of 40k lore, Trazyn himself is an interesting commander who gains all activated abilities of artifacts in your graveyard. This ability really lets him live up to his epithet, which can lead to several variations of combo-killing the table, either through damage or through mill.
Hey guys! It’s Serena, back again! Let’s talk about killing. Specifically, killing creatures in a commander game. That’s the whole game plan for this Massacre Girl, Known Killer deck I’ve been brewing, and I think you guys will like this one too.
Hey guys! It’s Serena, taking the stage again to bring you all another Magic the Gathering Commander deck tech!
This time, we’re discussing Hatsune Miku! More specifically, we’re talking about Miku, the Renowned, a reskinned version of Feather, the Redeemed, a classic commander. This is a 3/4 flying angel for a red and two white. Also, whenever you cast an instant or sorcery that targets a creature you control, you exile it, then return it to your hand at the end phase. Therefore, we’re a fairly limited spellslinger deck, but that doesn’t mean we have bad options! The deck revolves around our commander and low-cost spells to hit our opponents hard and fast.
Most game shops fall under the Wizards Play Network banner, but only a few have WPN Premium status. WPN Premium stores receive several benefits, such as exclusive product, WPN Premium promo cards, access to special events, and exclusive marketing materials. However, WPN Premium stores are expected to be among the best of the best, so there are several requirements a store must meet to be accepted. You can find an overview and checklist on the WPN Premium Hub.
While product knowledge and running engaging events are important aspects, many of the requirements focus on layout design and general upkeep of the store. Important areas highlighted are Card Storage and Shipping Boxes/Cardboard. In short, cardboard boxes need to be out of view, and card storage needs to be in an organized and matching solution or out of sight. The BCW 6 Drawer Card Catalog meets the requirements for card storage without the use of cardboard. This helps check off 2 important requirements, letting you focus on other areas. Best of all, the Card Catalogs are modular, letting you easily add more units as your inventory grows.
The Card Catalog is an excellent way to help your shop meet – or maintain – WPN premium status. Combining a high-quality look that fits nearly every theme with a modular design, the 6-Drawer Card Catalog will make storing and searching your card inventory easier than ever.
Let’s talk about vehicular combat! More specifically, I was inspired to build myself a new Alela, Artful Provocateur deck, built around vehicles. Last time we discussed a deck with more combo potential, but now we’re going for more of a midrange resource generative game plan. This list will be a heavily modified Buckle Up precon from Kamigawa Neon Dynasty, with a focus on token creation to use to pilot our mechs. The Buckle Up precon is blue and white, but with Alela add black for some classic Esper artifacts. Alela is a stellar vehicle commander, because every time you cast an artifact (or enchantment), she gives you pilots to crew your mechs. We also have a whole garage of draw engines to get us on the streets in style! As a refresher, Alela is a 2/3 Faerie Warlock with flying, deathtouch, and lifelink, and gives your other flyers +1/+0. You also create a 1/1 faerie token for every artifact and enchantment you cast. Those tokens are great for getting in the robots below.
Hey guys! It’s Serena back, this time taking another dive into Commander!
As you may have noticed, I’m a big fan of Lyrical Monasterio and Bermuda Triangle in Vanguard, so we’re gonna submerge ourselves into an upgraded “Explorers of the Deep” precon deck from the Lost Caverns of Ixalan. To start off, Explorers of the Deep is a merfolk kindred deck in blue and green, and also has some nice +1/+1 counter synergies. While the preconstructed version uses Hakbal of the Surging Soul, I’ve cut that card entirely. The commander we’re going with is Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca, which enables our combos a lot easier, including some game-ending infinites.
Stand up! ….Commander? Wait, that’s not right! Let’s try that again! What angel wakes me from my flowery bed?
Hey guys, it’s Serena, back with another article. This time, we’re doing something a little different, as this article will be on my absolute favorite Magic: the Gathering tribe, faeries, in Commander. Here’s what I’m using through Wilds of Eldraine.
Many commander players tune their decks, optimizing every aspect of play. Every weakness is covered, every strategy exploited, and no wasted space is allowed. This is not one of those decks. At its heart, the deck wants to cast artifacts to create Faerie tokens. This isn’t a win condition in and of itself usually, but it facilitates various paths to victory. As usual, you can find the decklist on Moxfield.
