Collecting the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game

The Final Fantasy series has a storied history in the realm of video games. Spanning multiple consoles, genres, stories, and characters, it remains a popular franchise. While there is a Japan-only Final Fantasy card game, this focuses on the more recent, international version released in 2016.

The Final Fantasy TCG uses 50 card decks made of cards representing various characters from the series, with the goal of dealing 7 points worth of damage to the opponent. The game uses 4 types of cards: Forward, Backup, Summon, and Monster. Each type has a different function, but backup and forward cards are most important. For more information, check the official site, and an interactive tutorial can be found on the rules page.

A FFTCG deck must contain 50 cards, making decks easier to store and transport. For example, the Prism Deck Case holds two single-sleeved, 50 card decks.

Flesh and Blood TCG, Tales of Aria Box Openings

I’m visiting The Dragon’s Realm in Madison, Indiana, and opening my first box of Flesh and Blood TCG Tales of Aria cards. I quickly sort my cards, and spotlight some of my favorite pulls.

Box #2
I’m back at The Dragon’s Realm in Madison, Indiana, and opening my second box of #fabtcg Tales of Aria 1st Edition. I run through this quick again, just hitting the highlights. As with the first box, I used a Modular Sorting Tray for my basic organization of the cards. I divided these into Hero Tokens, Commons, Rares, Foils, Generic Equipments, and Majestics.

Which of these cards would you use when building a deck? Follow me on Twitter and share your thoughts (tag @BCW_Rick).

We then talk about what to expect from the Tales of Aria release, scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24th. Finally, we consider what hero will become the dominant force after the Tales of Aria release and the banned cards.

Please respond to my related tweet and let me know what hero you think will become the strongest, and how the meta has changed.

Follow me on Twitter to track how the weekend evolves at The Calling. I plan to compete in the Friday Tales of Aria “First Look” sealed event, and then the Saturday The Calling main event. Hopefully I’ll advance to Day 2 of The Calling, but if not, I’ll play in the Pro Quest Sunday event.
