Kumena Merfolk Tribal EDH Deck Tech

By Serena L.

Hey guys! It’s Serena back, this time taking another dive into Commander!

As you may have noticed, I’m a big fan of Lyrical Monasterio and Bermuda Triangle in Vanguard, so we’re gonna submerge ourselves into an upgraded “Explorers of the Deep” precon deck from the Lost Caverns of Ixalan. To start off, Explorers of the Deep is a merfolk kindred deck in blue and green, and also has some nice +1/+1 counter synergies. While the preconstructed version uses Hakbal of the Surging Soul, I’ve cut that card entirely. The commander we’re going with is Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca, which enables our combos a lot easier, including some game-ending infinites.

Spring Cleaning For Card Collectors

By Matt Gilman of Cards Over Coffee

It’s almost that time of year. The time when you start to tear apart your house and take part in the yearly tradition known as spring cleaning.

I not only participate in that when it comes to my house, but I also do this for my card collection too. I think all collectors need to do some touching up to their collections after a long winter. When it comes to spring cleaning my collection, I have two projects that I do.

The first part of my project is cleaning out overly used toploaders from cards I acquired over the winter. The ones that are covered with stickers, tape, have “yellowing” and card savers in general. I like to have a neat and tidy looking collection, one I can brag about.

Smash the Pokemon Raid Format With Tinkaton ex!

The Pokemon Raid format is an asymmetrical, cooperative game where a team of players work together to defeat a powerful Raid Boss, represented by an oversized Pokemon card or a V-UNION. While the basic rules apply, there are a number of differences, such as players taking turns simultaneously, the group getting a collective number of Supporter cards that can be played each turn, and players taking their own prize cards as their Pokemon are knocked out. For more information, see the Pokemon TCG Alterative Play Handbook on the Pokemon website.

Pokémon Deck Tech: Alakazam ex Wall

Alakazam ex from the Scarlet and Violet 151 set does something no other card in the Pokemon TCG has ever done before: It can attack from the bench. While it only does 120 damage with the Dimensional Hand attack, it can do so with much more protection than other attackers. When paired with Pokemon with powerful defensive abilities, it becomes very difficult to deal with.

Cardfight Vanguard Deck Tech: Fortia and Friends!

By Serena L.

Stand Up! Vanguard!

Serena here again. And this time, I brought Friends! Today we’re exploring the new upgrades for Lyrical Monastario’s Fortia and her Friends. If you’re familiar with older formats of Vanguard, you are probably familiar with the Harmony deck. Friends are basically the updated version of Harmony. Most of our Units grant the “Friends” state when they have another unit in their column, and the ones that don’t all have powerful (but not ‘Powerful’) abilities! We will be calling the units that grant the ‘Friend’ status to themselves and their column-mates ‘Friend units’ for simplicity’s sake. The specific wording of the Friend ability is: “If you have another unit in the same column as this unit, that unit and this unit become “Friends”.

Universus Shigaraki 3 Standard Deck Tech

The new year brought the first of many changes to the Universus ccg, namely that decks in every constructed format have a minimum of 60 cards plus character. The next change doesn’t take place until the release of the Dark Tournament set, which takes the base My Hero Academia out of rotation for Standard. While there is still time to use the older cards, many players are already starting to build without those cards. That was my thought process when I converted my Order based deck to a new, standard-legal Evil deck. You can find the deck list on UVS Ultra.

Cards for Universus that effect or require control checks.

Introducing the BCW 6 Drawer Card Catalog

This new product is available for pre-sale. The first wave of inventory is anticipated to ship to customers in May, 2024. Inventory from the first wave of Card Catalogs is available while quantities last.

Cardboard boxes have been the standard for storing cards for decades. They do the job, but are not an elegant storage solution. We introduced the 3200 and 1600 Collectible Card Bins for those seeking more sophisticated card storage. With that in mind, BCW introduces the 6 Drawer Card Catalog for collectors wanting a great looking storage solution that allows easy access to cards.
