How to Carry Your Tournament Essentials for HeroClix

By Serena L.

Hey guys! It’s Serena, back again.

BCW Prime X4 XL with HeroClix models and accessories.

This time, we’re talking about what I take to a HeroClix tournament. HeroClix is a collectible miniatures game based primarily on characters from Marvel and DC comics, but occasionally other IPs are added, such as TMNT, Beetlejuice, and even Dungeons & Dragons. All the figures in the game have a dial in their base that clicks as you turn it, revealing the stats and powers of the particular figure. Each game piece has its own point value, and each tournament has a point total your team needs to achieve, usually 300 or 400 points. Gameplay consists of each player using several actions per turn, one for every 100 points used. For example, a 300-point tournament uses three actions per player. The game continues until one team is completely KO’d or until the timer runs out, at which point the winner is decided by whoever knocked out the most points.

Five Underrated Albums: 1980

The year 1980 marked a transitional moment in popular music. Punk had fractured into post-punk, new wave was rising, and established artists were exploring deeper, more experimental waters. While some albums soared up the charts, others — often more daring or emotionally complex — flew under the radar.

These albums pushed boundaries, told deeper stories, and left behind legacies far larger than their initial sales might suggest.

Here are five albums from 1980 that didn’t receive the mainstream recognition they deserved in their time but have since gained devoted followings and critical reevaluation.

Pokémon Deck Tech: Gholdengo x Ceruledge

Both Gholdengo ex and Ceruledge ex are proven decks. While neither is at the top of the meta, both are solid performers that can threaten almost any deck. However, both come with some downsides. Gholdengo needs to constantly recycle energy, or it runs out of steam, and Ceruledge needs to fill the discard pile with energy as quickly as possible. With this in mind, I thought I would combine the two, as they work well together.

MTG Jumpstart Cube: Blue Spotlight

By Serena L.

Hi guys! It’s Serena back again!

This time we’re diving into the four blue packs in my Jumpstart cube. As a refresher, each of these twenty card packs will have 6 basic lands, an Evolving Wilds, at least one piece of removal and 3 rares. Since we’re in blue, I decided things like Counterspell and other counter magic worked for the removal slot.
