Storing and Playing Planechase

Released on September 4, 2009, Planechase is a casual, multiplayer friendly format for Magic the Gathering. While it wasn’t the most popular format at the time, it did spawn a new set in 2012, as well as a Planechase Anthology collection in 2016. Over the years, the format has grown in popularity, with many variants popping up. The March of the Machines commander decks each include 10 Planechase cards and Planar die, resurrecting the format and showcasing commander Planechase as a new way to play.

What Penny Sleeves Work For Thick Cards?

Anyone that participates in the card collecting hobby for any amount of time learns something very quickly: You can never have too many sleeves on hand. No matter what your end goal with a card may be, a standard sleeve will almost always be helpful. Another thing collectors learn is that different thicknesses of cards need different sleeves. However, if you don’t know the thickness of your cards, the BCW Card Thickness Gauge shows several common thicknesses. Download and print Card Thickness Gauge (PDF).

How to Store Jumbo Pokémon Cards

Pokémon has a thriving fan base that loves collecting related products, and cards are no exception. While most are standard size, either in the CCG or normal trading cards, the promotional jumbo cards have fans as well. These are normally included in themed box sets. Usually, they are identical to a card in the box, only much larger.

MHA Universus Kyoka Jiro Deck Tech

The metagame for MHA moves pretty fast. Characters and deck archetypes fall in and out of favor in the span of a couple of weeks. There are a few that have maintained presence in high level play, and Jiro is one of the most popular. Many decks use Good, mostly to use Cannon Blast, or All to take advantage of Weapon synergies. This one focuses on Air, relying on Jiro’s reaction abilities along with low to mid-difficulty Charge attacks. The full deck list is posted on UVS Ultra.

Cardfight Vanguard – Meer V Premium Deck Tech

By Serena L.

Stand Up, Vanguard!

It’s Serena again! This time, I thought we’d change things up a little, so instead of a deck tech for Cardfight Vanguard’s Standard (also called Overdress or D format), I would bring you one for V Premium! V or V Premium is the second of the three formats of Cardfight Vanguard and runs differently from Overdress. Most notably, there is no Ride deck, but there are a few other mechanics to replace it. Let’s cover those before we really dig in.

MTG Oathbreaker Format

Recently, Wizard of the Coast announced Oathbreaker as the newest officially supported format. Originally tested in 2017, it gained new attention during the War of the Spark release, as planeswalkers became more prevalent, along with spells that reward having specific planeswalkers in play. Like Commander, it is a casual, multiplayer format. However, there are a number of important differences as well.

Based on the long-running manga and anime, the One Piece Card Game released to a market hungry for the product. The game features an automatic resource mechanic more in line with digital ccgs like Hearthstone, albeit with a few extra tricks. Overall, what could have easily been a quick cash-grab game has several interesting designs. The Official Site has more information for new players.

How to Set the Combination Lock on a BCW Locking Case

The BCW Locking Cases offer a great mix of durability and security. This is not only due to the soft foam interior holding the slabs, but also because of the integrated combination lock. This is especially useful if you take the cases to shows, as the locks help act as a deterrent to keep others from trying to get into your collectibles.

To set the combination, follow these steps. First, open the case. Then, on the back of the lock, push the slider to the “Set” position. Set the 3 dials to your desired code, then push the slider to “Off”. After that, simply repeat the process on the other lock. You can use the same combination on both sides, different ones, whatever works best for you. I suggest something you can easily remember.

By Serena L.

Stand up! Vanguard!

It’s Serena, back with another Cardfight Vanguard deck tech! This time, I’d like to focus on the deck that’s taking control of the meta in Japan that recently released here as well. I’m talking about the Chronojet Stride Deck Set! This product reintroduces the Stride mechanic from the G anime into Overdress’s D format. The Deck Set itself contains all the basics you need for the strategy, but there are some powerful upgrades to made. We’re going to focus on more of a budget approach in this article.
