Are you seeking affordable gift ideas for the comic book collector in your family? While BCW does not sell comics, we do offer great products to protect, store, and display a comic collection. You can find the items below at your local comic shop, directly from BCW at the links found below, and other online retailers.
The BCW Locking Cases offer a great mix of durability and security. This is not only due to the soft foam interior holding the slabs, but also because of the integrated combination lock. This is especially useful if you take the cases to shows, as the locks help act as a deterrent to keep others from trying to get into your collectibles.
To set the combination, follow these steps. First, open the case. Then, on the back of the lock, push the slider to the “Set” position. Set the 3 dials to your desired code, then push the slider to “Off”. After that, simply repeat the process on the other lock. You can use the same combination on both sides, different ones, whatever works best for you. I suggest something you can easily remember.
Collectors need a way to store their collectibles, and comic fans are no different. There are several options for comic storage. Each of these hold current to silver age comics. While there are common elements between all of them, each works best in different circumstances.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Last Ronin series started with a 5 issue mini-series (IDW Publishing, April 2022). The series depicts a future NYC where a lone Turtle seeks justice for his fallen family and friends. These comics are not the common “current comic size”, making it a bit more challenging to bag and board these book if you plan to protect them in the normal fashion. The Last Ronin comics measures 7 1/16″ x 10 13/16″, larger than most current comics. These are thick perfect bound issues, meaning they have wraparound covers that are glued to the interior pages, like paperback books.
The Last Ronin are essentially the height of a traditional magazine, and the width of Golden Age comics. Therefore a bit of customizing is needed to get the desired fit when storing these with bags and boards. Get Golden Age Comic Bags (7 5/8″ x 10 1/2″). The version without the resealable strip is best in this instance, as the flap in the back will not reach down to the resealable strip, so the flap will need to be taped down. For the backing boards, get Magazine Boards (8 1/2″ x 11″) as those are the appropriate height. It will be necessary to trim one inch off the side of the Mag Boards in order to get the desired width.
When you get a BCW Comic Book or Magazine Bin, it will come as a set of panels that need to be snapped together. It can be a bit confusing the first time you do this, but becomes much easier on later builds. The How To videos for the Short Comic Bin, Long Comic Bin, Graded Comic Bin, and Magazine Bin are all below, although the assembly process is identical for all of these bins.

If you have never folded one of these boxes on your own, the first time you fold them can be somewhat confusing.
