Organizing Shadows of Brimstone

By Kimberly Weese

Shadows of Brimstone by Flying Frog Productions is a fully-cooperative dungeon crawler that allows its players to build characters, travel through portals, visit various worlds, battle monsters and enemies, all while trying to save the local town (and earn as much gold and loot as they can carry). Each map tile, piece of gear, choice of enemy, or room encounter that you come across is randomly determined by the luck of the draw from its own deck of cards. Which, as one can imagine, adds up to a lot of cards. When I first started playing this game 7 years ago, I traveled with my game to my favorite local store with a few deck boxes for each set of cards. Over time, the few boxes multiplied with each expansion added and quickly required more boxes than I wanted to carry. Luckily, BCW’s 3200 Collectible Card Bin and Bin Partitions were the perfect answer to my problem! With all my cards in one box, they were easy to store and carry.

How to Prevent Your Sports Cards from Bricking

By Sal Barry

Wayne Gretzky Pinnacle Card

Longtime collectors remember when sports cards started using a high-gloss protective coating in the early 1990s. This coating – known as UV coating – gave the cards like Fleer Ultra and Topps Stadium Club a slick, premium feel to them. Collectors loved it!. But this eventually led to a problem called “bricking.”

Bricking is when cards get stuck together in a stack resembling a brick. And once they brick, they are hard to unstick. Read on to learn why cards stick together, what to do if they brick, and how to prevent that from happening in the first place.

Zines Past and Present

A zine (short for magazine), is typically a small-circulation, self-published piece of original or borrowed texts and images. While zines are often reproduced on a copy machine today, they have a history that predates photocopy machines.

Dominion Storage Solution

by David Kuhfuss

BCW card bins with Dominion cards

I have the expansions sorted chronologically by release date, then alphabetical within each expansion, with the exception being I’ve put the 2nd edition upgrade packs in a separate section to their original game. The original “canon” so to speak including promos and upgrades all fit in one of the big boxes. Everything released outside of the original canon is in the second box. There should be room for at least one more big expansion. In the half box I keep all the base cards (treasure/victory point) and tokens and mats. Keep in mind, I don’t sleeve my cards, but the dividers are sleeved. The dividers are available for free to print for yourself at https://domdiv.bgtools.net/. They can also be attached to Tall Card Dividers to make them more durable. I’d highly recommend these boxes. Only downside is the weight makes them a pain to take out of the house, but really with this amount of cards you’re going to run into that issue.

4 Reasons to Use the Modular Sorting Tray

By Sal Barry

BCW Modular Sorting Tray with hockey cards

Opening packs is one of the most-fun parts of card collecting. But then sorting the cards? Eh, not so much. We like to see what new goodies await in each foil pack that we rip. Yet, once the cards start to pile up, there’s the unenviable task of sorting them. Fortunately, Modular Sorting Trays make it quicker and easier to put your cards in order. And they’re also easy to move and store, which is great if you can’t permanently dedicate your dining room table for sorting cards.

Finding the Right Pages to Store Your Odd-Sized Trading Card Collection

By Sal Barry

Variety of Card Sizes in BCW Pocket Pages

If you are like me, you enjoy putting your trading cards in pages and albums, so you can protect your collection in a way that also lets you easily look at it. But one point of frustration for collectors is when they come across cards that are not the standard 2-1/2” by 3-1/2” size. What’s a card collector supposed to do with postcards, odd-sized team-issued cards, or even cards that are just a touch larger than normal size? Fortunately, BCW has you – and your cards – covered, as it has archival-safe pages that will fit almost any collectible.

Cardfight Deck Tech – Pure Rondo of Eventide Moon, Feltyrosa Standard

By Serena L.

Hi, I’m Serena, and I’ve been passionate about card games since I was 8 and have kept up with them for over 20 years. I’ve played quite a few, including MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh, and most notably, Cardfight Vanguard. I have a particular interest in the Overdress/Standard format.

Stand up, Vanguard!
Feltyrosa is all about Calling her Ghostly friends to aid her on stage, then swarming your opponent with up to 5 attacks and 4 drive checks! With Rondo of Eventide Moon, when Feltyrosa’s drive check reveals a Ghost normal unit, you get to Call it to an open front row rear-guard circle. If you do, you can Counterblast 1 to get another drive, and can do this as many times as you can Call off her Skill. You can find a full deck list on Bushiroad’s Deck Log. You can find more information on the game at the official website.
