Cardboard boxes have been the standard for storing cards for decades. They do the job, but are not an elegant storage solution. We introduced the 3200 and 1600 Collectible Card Bins for those seeking more sophisticated card storage. With that in mind, BCW introduces the 6 Drawer Card Catalog for collectors wanting a great looking storage solution that allows easy access to cards.
Longtime collectors remember when sports cards started using a high-gloss protective coating in the early 1990s. This coating – known as UV coating – gave the cards like Fleer Ultra and Topps Stadium Club a slick, premium feel to them. Collectors loved it!. But this eventually led to a problem called “bricking.”
Bricking is when cards get stuck together in a stack resembling a brick. And once they brick, they are hard to unstick. Read on to learn why cards stick together, what to do if they brick, and how to prevent that from happening in the first place.
If you have a large collection of sports or gaming cards, you likely have card boxes on shelves. The IKEA-style shelves (pictured below), or wire rack shelves (pictured further below) are effective solutions for card box storage. Card Catalog on IKEA Shelves
The 6 Drawer Card Catalog is designed to fit in IEKA shelving, but also locks together with other units to create a modular system. Using the Catalog with a Kallax lets you find cards easily, as you don’t have to physically maneuver boxes. This makes it a perfect setup for someone with a large collection they access regularly.
