Wholesale Orders Should be Delivered to a Commercial Address
BCW offers wholesale accounts to resellers of BCW products such as hobby shops and online retailers. Customers that wish to resell BCW products and have a business license from their state or federal government can apply for a BCW wholesale account. Once approved for a wholesale account, businesses can order BCW products at reduced pricing, and our wholesale Free Shipping policy* applies (*you must sign-in to your wholesale account to view the wholesale Free Shipping details).
In order for wholesale accounts to achieve Free Shipping, the order must meet a few requirements. First, the value of the order must reach our Free Shipping threshold. For some products the threshold is $1,000, but the threshold is only $500 for the products designated with a Green Key. Once the Free Shipping threshold is reached, everything on that order will ship for free. A second requirement for wholesale Free Shipping is the shipping address must be a singular commercial address in the 48 contiguous United States or Washington DC. If you select to ship to a residential address, you can pay for the delivery, or you can use our Free Shipping Program but a Residential Delivery Surcharge will apply. The Residential Delivery Surcharge is $50 for small orders, and $100 for large orders.
There are several options to avoid this Residential Delivery Surcharge if you originally planned to ship to a home address.
The most common solution is to get assistance from a local business to receive the order on your behalf. If this is a pallet-size freight order (often called “LTL”, for Less Than Truckload), consider if the commercial address has a loading dock, or request the lift gate service. The lift gate service is included on orders that achieved Free Shipping, but this must be requested to get the order on a truck that has the lift gate.
Another solution for the pallet-size freight orders (LTL) is to deliver to the freight company’s terminal. Then if you have a large enough vehicle to get your products from the terminal, you can pick-up the order. If you have a specific freight company terminal near you that would work best, please contact a BCW Customer Service Rep to see if we can accommodate to deliver to that freight terminal.
If you need a commercial address for a smaller parcel order, delivering to a UPS Store or FedEx Store might be a solution for you.
The last option is to skip the delivery and pick-up the order at the BCW warehouse, but this is only practical for some residents of Indiana or Ohio. When selecting your shipping service on our website, select “pick up”. You will receive an email when your order is ready for pick-up. Then visit our office at 8984 W.
