Organizing Shadows of Brimstone

By Kimberly Weese

Shadows of Brimstone by Flying Frog Productions is a fully-cooperative dungeon crawler that allows its players to build characters, travel through portals, visit various worlds, battle monsters and enemies, all while trying to save the local town (and earn as much gold and loot as they can carry). Each map tile, piece of gear, choice of enemy, or room encounter that you come across is randomly determined by the luck of the draw from its own deck of cards. Which, as one can imagine, adds up to a lot of cards. When I first started playing this game 7 years ago, I traveled with my game to my favorite local store with a few deck boxes for each set of cards. Over time, the few boxes multiplied with each expansion added and quickly required more boxes than I wanted to carry. Luckily, BCW’s 3200 Collectible Card Bin and Bin Partitions were the perfect answer to my problem! With all my cards in one box, they were easy to store and carry.

After spending some time with my label maker, everything was quickly organized. Having the partitions labeled allows my players and myself the ability to easily pull what we need, when we need it. Not to mention how easy clean up is at the end of the game when everyone knows where everything goes. It also fits perfectly on the game shelf as well as in my travel case. Unlike most deck boxes, the hard plastic bin provides a sturdy and secure method of storing all the cards vertically and there is no worry while traveling that anything will be squished or warped.

What started as an old west civilization, has expanded to include a world of Japanese samurai and Norse vikings. Shadows of Brimstone is always evolving and adding new expansions and new worlds for players to visit. However, with BCW, card storage won’t be a problem. The partitions can adjust to allow more room for that new gear or enemies being added to the already existing section, and you can purchase extra partition packs that allow the addition of new card types. Also, the rows are wide enough for sleeved cards.
