Cardfight Vanguard Deck Tech – Loronerol

By Serena L.

Stand Up! Vanguard!

Hey guys! It’s Serena ready to dive into another Cardfight Vanguard Overdress format deck tech! This time we’re gonna sing with Loronerol! Loro is one of the original decks that came out in the first Lyrical Monastario set, and she also recieved new support in the Festival Booster! Loronerol’s main mechanic is using Song orders to gain various abilities. So without further ado, let’s start off with our ride line!

Sing with Me, Loronerol card for Cardfight Vanguard

Our starter is To Deliver a Song, Loronerol, and our grade 1 is Throbbing Search, Loronerol. The grade 2 Blossoming Vocal, Loronerol has a similar effect. In both cases if we played one from hand we get to draw a card. Blossoming Vocal also gains 5k power if we have a face-up Song, which Throbbing Search sets up. Rounding out our ride deck is Loronerol’s new grade 3 form, Sing With Me, Loronerol. Sing With Me has the Dress-Up ability so she counts as Heartfelt Song, Loronerol. She also says when she’s placed on Vanguard that you look at the top 5 cards of your deck and put a grade 3 or lower on rear. Her other effect is when she attacks, you choose a face-up Song in your order zone and Sing it (which you do by flipping it face-down), then if your opponent’s vanguard is grade 3 or greater, you can Soulblast a grade 3 with Loronerol in it’s card name and if you do for that battle she gains a critical and your opponent can’t call Sentinels from hand to guardian circle! Now on to our grade 1 lineup!

Coiling Parade, Shibanu card for Cardfight Vanguard

First up, we have one copy of the grade 1 Song, Romantic Happiness. Romantic Happiness draws a card and give one of your Vanguards 5k power for the turn. Other than this and Sentinels (in this case 3 Soapy Splash, Riviera and 1 Elementaria Sanctitude) we have 2 copies of Fighting Spirit Recharge!, Louisa and 2 copies of Coiling Parade, Shibanu. Louisa says when she boosts if your Vanguard sung a Song this turn, she gets a 5k boost, and if she’s in the back row center rearguard circle, you Countercharge 1! Shibanu, on the other hand, says if she’s placed on rear while you have a grade 3 Loronerol vanguard you can Counterblast 1 to look at the top 5 of the deck and choose up to 2 grade 3 Loronerol named cards with different names and add them to your hand, then shuffle. If you didn’t add a card, you draw 1, which should set up 2 Persona Rides!

Grade 2s are more common for us than grade 1s. Starting off, we have 2 copies of Madder Red Runway, our grade 2 Song. Runway says when it’s put into the order zone to draw a card if our opponent’s vanguard is grade 3 or greater, and when it’s sung to choose one of our Vanguards to gain a crit for the turn! Our other grade 2s are 4 each of Honest Student Council President, Eknoa and Clear Stream, Marilou. Eknoa says when she attacks if our Vanguard sung a song this turn, she gets 5k power, then we can CB1 and discard a card to draw 2 cards. Marilou, on the other hand gets +10k when there are 2 or more face-down cards in our Order Zone, making her a solid attacker. More importantly, when placed she lets us pay the cost to search our deck for a Song. The cost is different if we Persona Rode or not. If we didn’t Persona Ride, the cost is putting a card from hand into soul. If we did, the cost is SB1. Either way, the Songs are our key to victory, so being able to find them is great!

Now for Grade 3s, we have 3 more (so 4 total) copies of Sing With Me, Loronerol for Persona Rides, and another 3 copies of Heartfelt Song, Loronerol, which also act as Persona Rides due to the Dress-Up ability. Heartfelt Song also lets us just CB1 to sing a Song once per turn as an Act skill, but also says when she attacks, if you have two or more face-down cards in the order Zone, you can choose a face-up Song and sing it, letting you sing two songs in one turn, plus this version also stops your opponent’s Sentinels just like Sing With Me!

Clear Stream, Marilou card for Cardfight Vanguard

We also have 5 Orders in our grade 3 line-up, one being our Regalis Piece, Evergreen Transphere, a Blitz Order that for SB1 we can give unit 25k power for a battle AND we give our Vanguard the continuous red-text ability that says ‘All your opponent’s units with 100 million or more power get crit -1.’ until the end of the turn. The other 4 Orders are the 4 copies of the last Song in the deck, Six-Flower Fractale, which has two effects. First, when placed into the order zone you can choose a face-down card in the order zone and turn it face-up, recycling Songs we’ve already sung. Fractale’s other effect is when it’s sung, choose the same number of your rearguards as the number of face-down cards in your order zone and stand them, then choose one of your vanguards, stand it and it gets 10k for EACH of the rearguards you stood with this effect. This coupled with either Loro’s guard restriction can be lethal.

Rounding out the deck is our trigger lineup, which is 8 (non-effect) Crits (for the moment I’m using 4 of each Original Style, Elshuka and Astesice, Misa, 4 Heals Soft Light, Pruel and 3 Snowskip Palvi for the extra shield (and the power on restand swings with Fractale!) and the last trigger is the new Spiritual King of Aquatics, Idosfaro, one of two new generic Overtriggers with new effects. Idosfaro lets you get a card from drop back to hand, then gives one of your units another crit!

All in all, Loronerol is a fun, consistent, and aggressive deck with the potential for lots of attacks with 2-3 critical. As a bonus, most of the cards for this deck are affordable. Here’s the decklist if you want to see it. Stay tuned for more decks in the future!

Serena, taking a bow and signing out for now~!
